Abstract

The study was carried out in the community of Coroca, region of Arapiuns, in Santarém-Pará.
The community members have been organizing in association for more than 15 years with
the intention of creating animals for preservation, started with the creation of turtles, fish and
then with bees. In another aspect, women were already part of the other association of woven
braids. According to community members about ten years ago they have been receiving tourists,
but for some time the flow of visitors in the community has been increasing due to the wild
animal breeding sectors, and also to the knowledge of the tour guides of the village of Alter do
Chão that put this Area on the tourism route. From the perspective of Agroecology, there is a
need for lectures, talks, workshops and dialogues with all the stakeholders involved in a reflection
on animal welfare, preservation of beaches, conservation of forests and their importance.
