O Quintal Agroflorestal Indígena como recurso didático nas aulas de Agroecologia e Extensão Rural

This work reports the experiences of the agroforestry backyard of the Umariaçu Community,
in the municipality of Tabatinga, state of Amazonas, from the field lessons, making this area a
true didactic resource for students of the Agricultural Technical Course of the Federal Institute
of Amazonas Campus Tabatinga . In the place are experiences related to the disciplines of
Agroecology and Extension, with emphasis on its practices and principles. The activity sought
to integrate learning in the classroom with the experience of indigenous farmers in the use of
traditional production systems, in this case the agroforestry yard. During the experiment, the importance
of traditional knowledge (common sense) for the formation of agroecology, as well as
the dissemination of sustainable agricultural practices through rural extension, was perceived.
