Abstract

This study presents the impacts, strengths and challenges of Studies Nuclei on Agroecology
and Organic Production (SNA) as result of policy to creation and maintenance SNA systematization.
The direct result of the policy were the strengthening of scientific production, guidance
of teachers and students, the greater access to the knowledge and technologies related to
agroecology, as well as, encouraging articulations and partnerships. The inseparability of tutorship,
research and extension – primary guideline of the SNA – made it possible the exercise
the necessary methodological support for the integration of scientific research with the social
actors who manage family agroecosystems and/or those related to the implementation of the
public policies. The SNA stimulated activities beyond the institutional universe, approaching
social organizations and communities of the studied process bringing them closer to social,
economic and environmental demands of the territories.
