Keywords:
Special education in agroecology, Garden, APAEAbstract
The objective of this project was to evaluate the growth and development of the students of
the Association of Parents and Friends of the Exceptional (APAE), through the insertion in
the agricultural environment, using agroecological techniques in soil and plant management.
The project is a partnership between IFC, through PET Agroecology and APAE. The project
is carried out in the APAE garden in the city of Rio do Sul. It started in August 2015 and since
then two weekly meetings have been held, totaling four hours. On average, 20 students from
different age groups and with different special needs participate in the activities. In the period
in which the project is being carried out, the beneficial effect on the development and growth
of the participants is evident, not only in APAE students, but also in students and teachers. The
use of agroecological techniques in the well-being of all is directly related to the essence of the
tutorial program PET Agroecology.
