Abstract

The Gurupá Rural Family House (RFH) is a rural school located on the banks of the Uruaí
River in the Marajó archipelago. It forms young and adult agroextractivists in agroecology
technicians, with the objective of sustainably developing the families of Gurupa countryside.
Professionals who work at RFH develop several functions that range from teaching theoretical
classes in the classroom, practicing in the field and even accompanying students on their properties,
this work can be challenging but very rewarding since students develop the practices
on their properties, which means that its production is improved, increasing their quality of life
and consequently ensuring their permanence in the field.
