Abstract

The objective of this work is to report the experience of a university extension activity that
promoted the insertion of Medicinal Plants in the garden of the Sophia Imbiriba School in Santarém-
PA, in order to promote the transformation of reality through an individual and collective
action of All in favor of quality of life. Playful activities were developed with students and lectures
with the school community, as well as mobilization with the community involved with the
school through a campaign to receive the donation of plants, supplies and materials used to
build the medical space in the school. Medicinal plants in the school garden contribute to the
construction of knowledge about its purposes with the students, thus increasing the valorization,
access and use of regional alternative medicine.
