Abstract

The Encontro Regional de Estudantes de Biologia of the Southeast (EREB-SE) is an annual
event that proposes a central topic of discussion and its relation with areas of practice of the
Biologist profession. This year, the EREB-SE RIO brought the theme “Public Educational Policies”,
opening space to discuss the changes that Agroecology provides to the environment
and to society. The audience of the event was composed of biology students, who mostly never
had contact with the subject of Agroecology. The activity was elaborated and designed to
instigate critical thinking about unsustainable human development and its socio-environmental
consequences, using alternative technologies that aim to respect man-nature relations as pedagogical
tools for the formation of transforming agents.
