Abstract

This present work has the purpose of analyze the implantation process of the Life Market, the
first municipal public market in Pernambuco which commercializes agroecological products.
Located in Bonito, Life Market agglutinates producers in agroecological transition focused on
strengthening another economic and social praxis, based on cooperation, self-management,
solidarity and nature’s respect. In addition, Life Market works as a reference center for environmental
education, including activities carried out in community and schools. Advances, limits
and perspectives of this experience will be presented evidencing the construction of a short
commercialization circuit as a motor that consolidates agroecology and solidarity economy at
not only farmer’s sites involved but also promoting new forms of sociability and awareness for
inhabitants of Bonito and its public managers.
