Abstract

The objective of this project is to describe the teaching/ learning process that occurred during
the classes of Olericultura and Medicinal Plants , through the implementation of an organic
and sustainable school garden developed by the students of the second year of the Integrated
Technological Course in Agroecology of the Southeast IF MG- Campus Muriaé, in the first semester
of 2016. As the technological bases were teaching, the students practically applied the
knowledge obtained in class in the cultivation of vegetables in a totally organic way (focusing
on Lactuca sativa and Allium schoenoprasum). For the implementation of the projects, an area
of 1000 m² was subdivided into twelve useful areas of 45 m². The techniques and procedures
used in this project can be harnessed in any garden for an entirely sustainable way of life providing
innumerable benefits, without the use of chemical inputs, bringing gains for both, the
environment and human health.
