Abstract

The Diploma in Agroecology for the Pampean region of Argentina is created in 2016 based on
the needs detected in a participative action research in UTN FRTL. It consists of 3 thematic
modules that are developed in a total of 152 hours, in 19 meetings of 8 hours each, two Saturdays
a month for 10 months and includes, for approval, a final integrative work. The first 2017
cohort is made up of 39 participants from 10 localities in the region, of which 41% are women,
61.3% of the participants form a conglomerate of agricultural producers, agricultural professionals,
students of rural administration and rural workers. It is interesting to note that the remaining
38.7% is not currently linked to an agroecological activity but wishes to do so. Finally, we
emphasize that a large majority wish to carry out transitional and agroecological management
plans in extensive fields.
