Abstract

Report on the development of a group of studies in agroecology in the years 2015 and 2016.
These activities are applied for the environmental restoration of degraded areas in the university
and in small rural properties, as alternative to facilitate the transition from traditional farming
to a better sustainable cultivation. As results, students learn ecological techniques of planting,
cultivating and propagation, nutrient cycling through compost and biofertilizers, also teamwork
and agroecological thinking. The farmers and local population are benefited with the help of
the students in the rural property, distribution of seedlings and the knowledge acquired in the
workshops.
