Empowerment and student protagonism: organization of the Agroecology Week for strengthening the Agroecology Course at the IFS - São Cristóvão Campus

The present experience resulted from the development of the actions of empowerment and
belonging of students through the CAAP - Academic Center of Agroecology Ana Primavesi, for
the promotion of the course of Technology in Agroecology of the IFS - São Cristóvão Campus.
For the recognition diagnosis, a Participatory Rapid Methodology (DRP) application was used
to evaluate the IV SAGROECO - IFS Agroecology Week, in this edition, organized by students.
The semi - structured interview tool was used, with the participation of 4 students from the
Higher Course of Technology in Agroecology, 1 technician from the NEA - Center of Agroecological
Studies of IFS and participants of the event. The participants’ report made it possible to
identify possible solutions to the problems that occurred at the event and the collective planning
of future actions to value the course and control of school dropout.
