UNILAB’s agronomy course is oriented politically towards peasant family agriculture and agroecology.
This work reports experiences from Agricultural Practices (PA) XII and PA XIII in
the community of Umari, Pacajus-CE, started in February 2016. The work began with the
diagnosis of the community. After this stage, actions were organized to deal with some of the
issues demanded by farmers. We highlight the dialogue of knowledge between the community
of Umari and the academic community, the perception of the problems faced by the farmers,
identification of topics for the elaboration of course completion works based on problems experienced
in the community, delivery of the map to farmers, workshops with varied themes,
elaboration of booklets and works already presented in events. With the departure of the newcomer
class, a new PA VIII class is proceeding with work in the community.
