Abstract

Fruticulture has great economic importance as income generator, jobs and rural development.
Nowadays, our natural riches are neglected by the lack of knowledge of their potentials.
Considering the conservation and biodiversity management, the objective of this work was to
evaluate the viability of the storage of pre-germinated pitangueira seeds. For this was adopted
factorial experimental design (packaging x storage time) with four replications of 25 pre-germinated
seeds. After 30 days the survival, length and dry mass of the plants were evaluated.
Data were submitted to the Lilliefors normality test, variance analysis, regression and Duncan
comparison of means (α=0.05). Up to 60 days of storage there was seedling survival, after this
period all seedlings died. The storage of pre-germinated pitangueira seeds in PET bottle can
be use until 60 days.
