Abstract

The present study aimed to survey the native medicinal species used by residents of rural
settlements in Araras (SP). We interviewed 17 residents, who point out the use of 24 native
species, five of which threatened. Most species are native to the region, which reinforces the
importance of valuing traditional knowledge and stimulating the use and cultivation of these
species, contributing to the conservation of biodiversity.
