Solar diversity in two communities of Tuxpan Veracruz, México

The objective of this study was to evaluate the diversity, its use and exploitation in two communities:
Congregation Juana Moza (CJM) and Ejido Juana Moza (EJM) in Tuxpan Veracruz. A
survey was applied in 2016 to 63 producers: 24 and 39, in EJM and CJM respectively. The
results show a total diversity of 139 species; 90 in Ejido and 120 in Congregation, together with
a variety of 40 sp, in order of abundance: plants of ornamental, medicinal, fruit, vegetables,
spices, and others. Families preserve and protect the diversity of plant and animal species on
the site by tradition and habit and because all species have a function and use within the solar
(shade, fence or boundary, site coexistence and recreation, source of food (plant and animal),
ornamental, medicinal, wood and firewood, well as raw material for the production of cured and
preserved food. The Diversity represents availability of products for own consumption and a
source of income for the sale products.
