Amburana cearensis A.C. Smith is a forest species belonging to the Fabaceae family, with
great economic potential due to its various applications. The objective of this work was to
evaluate the germination of Amburana cearensis (All.) A.C. Smith seeds from different matrix
trees. The following tests were analyzed: moisture content, weight of one thousand seeds, first
germination count and percentage of germinated seeds. Data were submitted to analysis of
variance, and their means, compared by means of the Tukey test at 5% probability. There were
no differences for the percentage of germination between the arrays of Amburana cearensis
(All.) A.C. Smith evaluated. The higher weight of the seeds influenced the greater vigor in the
test of first count of germination.
