Amburana cearensis A.C. Smith is a species with great economic potential. The objective of
this work was to evaluate the biometric characteristics of Amburana cearensis seeds from the
main plants located in the municipality of Boquira-BA. The seeds were collected manually,
from five matrix trees and taken to the seed technology and production laboratory of the UESB.
Realizou-se a limpeza, retirando as alas das sementes, em seguida, utilizou-se uma amostra
de 100 sementes para o dimensionamento do comprimento, largura e espessura com auxílio
de um paquímetro digital. For the seed mass, a precision scale was used. The biometric data
of the seeds were analyzed in frequency classes. The seeds presented averages of 15.54 mm
in length, 11.26 mm in diameter, 4.83 mm in thickness and mass of 0.52 g. There was variability
of biometric characteristics related to seed size and mass of Amburana cearensis A.C. Smith.
