Abstract

This text presents and analyzes different perceptions of traditional peasants from Morraria de
Cáceres / MT on the production of food and the rich knowledge built by them on food agrobiodiversity.
A case study on the perception about the food produced was adopted, adopting
a broad set of tools of participatory research, Agroecology and Ethnoecology. It is concluded
that knowledge about agrobiodiversity was essential so that Morroquians could produce and
remain in Morraria, in an environment of conflicts over land and natural assets.
