Traditional communities in Ipixuna of Pará: strength, resilience and union of Quilombola peoples

On October 13, 2016, a field class was held, with Forest Engineering students, from the Federal
Rural University of Amazonia, Paragominas campus (UFRA-PA), in a quilombola community
in the municipality of Ipixuna do Pará. The importance of community management of the
area of cassava cultivation, where families make use of a common area for planting corn, cassava
among other crops, after that period of cultivation that area is free for another member or
family Make use of, aspects that are related to the preservation of the agroecosystems of this
community. The visit allowed students and teachers a broad perception of the management of
the community system and the importance of the union and resilience of the peoples, for the
conquest of their freedom, the Earth. We conclude that the farmers see nature as a partnership
and that the agroecology practiced here is the movement of resilience and unity in search of
their achievements.
