This study brings the survey of species and varieties of traditional material exchanged during
the Traditional Seeds Exchange Fair, held in three consecutive years since the 2014 edition
of the Regional Fair of Solidarity Economy and Agroecology (FESA), in the municipality of
Laranjeiras do Sul -PR. This event represents an important moment to make visible the agrobiodiversity
of the Cantuquiriguaçu region and surroundings. In the 2014 and 2015 editions of
the Seed Exchange Fair, there was an evolution in the number of farmers and participating
municipalities, species and varieties exchanged. However, in 2016, there was a decrease in the
number of species, participation of municipalities and farmers, although number of varieties
increased. The Seed Exchange Fair promotes the rescue of native cultivars, valorization of
farming families, as well as contributes to the maintenance of regional agrobiodiversity.
