Ethnobotany of medicinal plants in the community of Macapazinho, Castanhal, Pará

This study aims to make a search ethnobotanical with the farmers about the medicinal plant
species, in order to strengthen the Amazonian traditional knowledge. The study was developed
in Macapazinho, city of Castanhal, Pará - Brazil. The study happened in 19th, 2016 until
29th. Were applied 25 semi-structured. 62 ethnospecies were recorded. Although, 84% of
respondents use some form of allopathic medicine, 64% of first resort to herbal medicines. We
conclude that the community Macapazinho farmers have high knowledge of the use of various
herbal medicines, however, it´s necessary that those responsible for health can guide about
dosages and mixtures.
