Abstract

Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) presents great genetic diversity. The cultivars are differentiated
in sweet (gentle) and bitter (angry) according to the hydrocyanic acid (HCN) contained
in the roots. This study aimed to make a data collection of morphologically different landraces
most used in the production of flour and derivatives by family farmers in upland ecosystem
Settlement Project Agro-PAE São Joaquim, Humaitá/Am. For the identification of morphological
characteristics, we used a questionnaire to producers of seven Anthony Lake communities.
Through the analysis of the results was identified seven varieties of manioc among which highlights
a called Raimundinha; and three varieties of soft cassava. All varieties of manioc have
the sole purpose of obtaining flour and only hopscotch variety has a second purpose which is
to obtain the tucupi.
