The role of the university in the construction of agroecological knowledge in southeast Pará

Abstract

The objective was to systematize the agro-ecological practices designed and tested in rural
settlements in the Southeastern Pará, as well as the contribution of the university in the construction
of agro-ecological knowledge in the territory. The research was qualitative approach,
based on the analysis of bibliographical and documentary material. It was verified the existence
of education, research and development using participatory approach and / or methodology
of action research in rural settlements. Projects carried out in partnership with local farmers
have devised technical reference, agro-ecological transition and supporting the development
of public policies adequate to the reality of production systems of this productive category.
