Viabilization of the production of Agroecological Milk and the Creation of the Catarinense Nucleus of Agroecology

The model of agriculture widely diffused and employed in Santa Catarina follows the capitalist
tendency of production growth and concentration of the same. The alternative to the dominant
model lies in the articulation of farmers who produce on a small scale and the use of agroecological
techniques, reducing production costs and maintaining the level of productivity. For milk
production, where the Family Agriculture is hegemonic, the technical bottleneck concentrates
on sanitary management of the herd and food also produced in an ecological way and free of
transgenics. The guiding objective of the project was the joint construction of technologies and
ways of organizing production adapted to the context of Family Agriculture of Santa Catarina
and achieved as main results the consolidation of Participatory Experimental Units based on
the Voisin Rational Grazing technology and the articulation of organic milk ECOLACT, from
production to shelf.
