Experiences systematization in the promotion of coexistence with the Semiarid region: the Brazilian Semi-arid Articulation (ASA) experience

The present work aims to expose the communication experience of the Brazilian Semi-arid
Articulation (ASA), focusing on the action of systematizing Semi-arid family farmers on the
banner and newsletter O Candeeiro. This action is carried out by ASA’s Network of Popular
Communicators. ASA is a network of civil society organizations that acts on the creation, management
and development of policies adapted to the Semi-arid region. Its communication
strategy aims the deconstruction of the drought response image, strengthening the perspective
of coexistence with the Semi-arid, and having men and women farmers as promoters of development.
With the systematizations of O Candeeiro the history of the Semi-arid region is being
told through these farmers, which are protagonists of their own lives and of the construction of
agroecological knowledge.
