Abstract

The production of agroecological basis plays a very important role in the socioeconomic consolidation
of family agriculture, being a space for the exchange of knowledge and interactions.
In the semi-arid region of Cariri Paraíba, weakened by long periods of drought, which jeopardize
the development of productive areas, food production on an agroecological basis defies
uncertainties. In this scenario, the objective was to analyze the perception of agro-ecological
farmers on the production and commercialization of the products in the municipalities of Sumé
and Monteiro. The method of observation included the identification and characterization of the
commercialization spaces and the perception of the social actors, through interviews, which
dealt with the time of commercialization, the option for agroecological production, marketed
products, price satisfaction and the main difficulties faced. Despite the difficulties to be overcome,
agroecological production is expressive, in face of the local reality.
