Abstract

The commercialization of the surpluses generated by family farming in Brazil is marked by the deficiency of an agricultural policy that guarantees a fair price for those who produce, and quality for those who consume, and this loss of control over resources and, therefore, of food sovereignty, is one of the results of the Green Revolution. Aiming to contribute to overcome this crisis, projects were developed at UFMS / Três Lagoas to promote short marketing channels, in this case the agroecological based fairs from rural settlements. The objective of this research was to monitor and analyze the main results for farmers and consumers of the agroecological fairs promoted by the Association of Family Farmers of the "20 de Março" Settlement, in the university environment of UFMS / CPTL, and in the Condominium Don El Chall. The research was carried out through theoretical studies and the application of structured and no structured questionnaires. It was concluded that the implementation of the fairs improved the farmers' income conditions and reduced the distance between farmer and consumer, improving their dialogue, and favoring the knowledge of the paths for food sovereignty.
