Abstract

It was identified, in this paper, the factors that stimulated the insertion of the farmers in the
commercialization of açaí, and it was analyzed the types of production systems of the “açaizais”
and socioproductive trajectories related to açaí in the Bacaba comunity. The methodology
used was fieldwork, application of semi-structured questionnaire, and posteriorly data systematization
and construction of typologies and socioproductive trajectories. The “intermediary”
is the main motivating factor of açaí commercialization in the Bacaba comunity. The types of
native “açaizal” management system found were: (i) moderate type and (ii) soft or unmanaged
type. Therefore, the growth of the market and the demand for the fruit in the Bacaba comunity
has been subtly modifying the “açaizal” management system for the production of açaí.
