Agroecology and solidarity economy in agroecological experiences at the north of Minas Gerais

Abstract

Agroecology and solidarity economy have their similarity because of the importance that both
of them give to the social and productives aspects of the sustainability. This paper aims to
describe consolidated experiences in the North of Minas Gerais, in the cities of Montes Claros
and Rio Pardo, where we visited an Experimental and Formation Area of Agroecology of the
Centro de Agricultura Alternative, the Grande Sertão Extractive Agricultural and the Riacho
D´antas Community Cooperative. This places were visited to try to obtain a relation between
agroecological knowledge and the practice of the communities by the processing and comercialization
of the products.
