Abstract

The present work intends to analyze the insertion of the present agroecological curriculum of
the Course of Agronomy of the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU). The methodology used
was the interview with teachers and the analysis of the Political Pedagogical Project (PPP) of
the Course. Data collected during the discipline of rural sociology were also used. Through the
use of theoretical references by Peirre Bourdieu and Paulo Freire, a space of struggles and
disputes between two different visions in relation to the formation and practice of the agronomist
was established; and agroecology, occupying a dominant position in this field, has found
it very difficult to assert itself as a technical and ideological option.
