Abstract

The use of methods of analysis that may represent the structure and functioning of agroecological-
based agricultural alternatives is an important tool in favor of sustainability and conservation
of the environment. In mountain environments, there is a wide variety of ecosystems, and
only recently have been studied in search of agroecological management strategies. In order
to agroecological projects implementation and conduction, a study was carried out in search
of strategies that contribute to the agroecological transition in the mountainous environments
of the Serrana Fluminense region of Brazil and of the Region of Alpa Corral in Argentina (organic
farming regions). In this context from field visits in Brazil and Argentina it was possible to
initially characterize the communities and to understand the potential of the method for future
aid in research actions, for the application of the “method “Economic-Ecological Analysis of
Agroecosystems”.
