This is an experience report about the production of cassava in a small property in the rural
area of Tracuateua / PA, with agroecological suggestions directed towards a small producer,
since there is a great concern with the production process of the cassava. Manioc, as well as
containing a great acidity in its composition, we have the use of fertilizers of chemical synthesis,
causing damage to the soil, its product and the health of the farmer. It is seen that the
cassava crop is the main factor of soil impoverishment, thus generating the loss in productivity
and product quality. Agroecological measures were questioned by four students from the Higher
Course of Agroecology, where subjects such as dead cover, green manuring, crop rotation
and agroforestry system were discussed. Aiming at factors of soil preparation in a correct
way improving their physical conditions, guaranteed food security and food sovereignty of the
producer.
