Abstract

This paper reports part of the experience in the field stage of the Agronomy course of the IFPA
- Campus Castanhal, in the municipality of Irituia, northeast of Pará. By accompanying the
daily routine of a teacher, who has been working for years to strengthen family farming in the
municipality, it was possible to know and revitalize her school project, which aimed to implement
/ rehabilitate a vegetable garden in a municipal school. The experience enabled students
to interact with environmental education through the development of horticulture techniques as
a didactic tool for the exercise of learning and the building of an ecological awareness.
