Abstract

This study turns into food consumption in the contemporary society. To this end, agroecological
opens market will be studied, these opens market, have recentely been expanding
their commercialization, in Recife city, as well. Thus, the research aims to identify who is the
consumer of these opens market; and his profile and relation with the buying motivations in
this agroecology enviromment, which foment the practices and agroecological development.
This study presents partial data of ongoing research - at two agroecological opens market in
the Pernambuco´s capital. The methodology will be participants observation, interview and
questionnaire. Finally, it is intended that the work will deepen the debate on food consumption
practices in contemporary society, guide other studies, as well as promote a fruitful discussion
based on the public policies that turn into these themes, which we know of being public and
private interest, for the social and environmental society development.
