Green fertilization is a technique that results in improved soil life, contributing to the reduction
of external inputs and the reduction of soil erosion. In addition, the legumes used in green
manuring are of great relevance for agricultural production by improving the physical, chemical
and biological soil conditions due to the increase of organic matter. In this way, the objective
of this study was to evaluate the agronomic performance of three legumes in the municipality
of Matias Barbosa. The work was implanted in the Quebra Panela site, in the Vale do Sol. The
experimental design was a randomized block design with three replications. The treatments
consisted of jack beans (Canavalia ensiformis), crotalaria juncea (Crotalaria juncea), black Mucuna
(Mucuna aterrina) and spontaneous vegetation. The results demonstrate that the studied
legumes present good adaptation to the edaphoclimatic conditions of Matias Barbosa, MG.
