“Coffee with Agroecology”: circle of conversation, knowledge and flavors

Abstract

The present work contains the report of a technical experience on the “Café com Agroecologia”,
monthly event promoted since January 2015, at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV)
-MG, Brazil, organized by students of the Graduate Program in Agroecology of UFV, teachers
and contributors. The meetings aim to promote spaces for discussion and construction of
agroecological knowledge among students, teachers and the non-academic community, interrelating
Agroecology to various topics such as food and nutritional security, agroecological
productive practices, participatory methodologies, public policies, research Agroecological,
women empowerment, among others. In a year of meeting, the “Café com Agroecologia” provided
a dynamic and relaxed space for socializing scientific and popular experiences, as well
as enhancing local socio-bio-diversity, contributing to agroecology as a science, movement
and practice.
