Sanity of seeds of creoles varieties corn stored by family farmers in the municipality of Belterra-Pará

Creole corn seeds are of high importance for family farmers because of their rusticity, low cost,
and low input requirements. The sanity of the seeds in gral is one of the determining factors for the
success of the crop. In this way the objective of the present work was to evaluate the sanity and
the germination of creole seeds of the municipality of Belterra-PA. Two varieties of Creole corn
were used. For the evaluation of the germination and sanitary analysis the incubation method
was used in paper substrate, under photoperiod of 12 hours and ambient temperature at ± 25 °
C. The experiment was conducted with four replicates, using 25 seeds in each. The evaluation
for germination and sanity was performed after five. The percentage of germination for the two
varieties studied was 95% and the fungi genus that affected were: Trichoderma sp., Aspergilus
flavus, Fusarium verticillioides, Aspergilus niger, with the highest incidence being Trichoderma sp.
