Implementation of the agroecological approach in extensive systems of southcentral Buenos Aires. Strategies for the start of an Agroecological Transition
Keywords:
extensive crops, agroecological lighthouses, agroecological transitionAbstract
The objective was to shape the link between the EEAI Barrow and extensive producers in the
center-south of Buenos Aires to initiate an agroecological transition. It is shown how through
the implementation of productive strategies in the establishments it was possible to promote
the systemic approach, thus promoting a collective construction for the application of this
approach. In the area there are two important agro-ecological lighthouses, the establishment
“La Aurora” and the agro-ecological module of EEAI Barrow, which allowed the beginning of
an agro-ecological transition with extensive agricultural producers in the area. Different basic
strategies were proposed to initiate an agro-ecological transition, and they led to the promotion
of systemic thinking and re-thinking of the productive model. Each case, and the whole experience,
act as an agro-ecological beacon to make the feasibility and potential of this approach
visible.
