Abstract

The production of free-range broiler Chicken in rural settlements is an activity carried out in
most of the properties, either for self-consumption or commercialization. The development of
technologies that support production with appropriate facilities and practices is of great importance
to these communities because of the low investment potential and precariousness
of the structures. The Project “Agroecological Settlements in the Southern Extreme of Bahia”
develops agroecological solutions with the agrarian reform’s camped farmers from that region.
This work reports the experience of a demonstration lot in the development and dissemination
of technologies for the production of free-range broiler Chicken, gathering elements of management
that enable the creation of an agroecological way, reducing the incidence of diseases,
improving production and generating income and food for these family farmers.
