Abstract

The objective of this work was to evaluate the physico-chemical changes in strawberries grown
under different plastic films in the Alto Vale do Itajaí region, SC. The strawberry is the most
important culture among the called small fruits; it has high productivity in small areas and a
rapid economic return. Thus, the investment in new culture techniques has emerged due to
the need of a production during all year; the use of the protected environment provides several
advantages, in which protection against wind, hail, rain and frost is highlighted. The experiment
was donein the “Instituto Federal Catarinense” , Campus Rio do Sul, between August and December
2016. The experimental project used was a randomized block design with three treatments
with four replicates. The following physical and chemical characteristics were evaluated:
Weight of the fruit, incidence of coloration, deformation, diameter, length, pH, titratable acidity,
vitamin C, flavonoids, anthocyanins and degree brix. The plastic films did not present differences
in any of the analyzed parameters, because there weren’t differences observed between
the samples and the control treatment(without film).
