The production of legume seeds could be a strategy to increase the income of family farmers,
as well as the improvement of soil characteristics. The objective of this work was to evaluate
the production of Canavalia ensiforme in different spacings in the state of Paraíba. The experiment
was conducted at the Federal University of Paraíba, Bananeiras-PB. A randomized
complete block design was used in the 2 x 3 factorial scheme, with three replications. The
treatments used were two harvest times of the pigs at 0,5 x 0,5 m; 0,5 x 0,75 m and 0,5 x 1,0
m. The weight of the pod with and without seed, weight of the seeds, number of seeds per pod,
weight of 100 seeds and total production were evaluated. The highest production of pork was
in season 2 of harvest. The spacing 0,50 x 1,0 m, presented better results in the development
and production of seeds of pork in the state of Paraíba.
