Abstract

Organic agricultural products are those that use, in all their production processes, techniques
that respect the environment and aim at the quality of food. In the production process, pesticides
or any other synthetic substance that may cause harm to the health of consumers is
not used (AZANHA, 2013). There is a lack of studies that seek to investigate and compare the
main organoleptic characteristics between agricultural products originating from the organic
production process and the conventional production process. In this sense, this work presents
the results of a research that sought to investigate the perception of consumers, whether or not
organic foods have a different flavor, have a lower or deformed aspect compared to conventional
ones, and if they have a higher price than that practiced in the trade of agricultural products
Conventional. For the accomplishment of this research forty-two consumers were interviewed
in the city of Porto Alegre / RS.
