Abstract

This paper aims to understand the agroextractive and productive cycles of the rubber tree
(Hevea brasiliensis), cacao (Theobroma cacao), Brazil nut (Bertholletia excelsa), cupuaçuzeiro
(Theobroma grandiflorum) and açaízeiro (Euterpe Oleracea) in the context of Amazonian
agroecological systems. It addresses the relationship of the crises of these cycles with the
various homogeneous agroeconomic expansions - which in terms of memory and history is
worth reminiscing in the light of Agroecology. The theoretical-methodological basis of analysis:
dialectical historical materialism and general systems theory. The results are: affirmation of
the ecological ecological limit imposed by monoculture in the Amazon; Even native regional
species do not support simplification - the importance of complexification remains vital. The
conclusions: recent estuarine development represents an economic, social and ecological tragedy;
The simplification of agroecosystems follows the pattern/historical model of development
imposed on the Amazon.
