Abstract

The environmental crisis results from the overexploitation of nature and the dominant political-
legal logic. Agroecology is a system that protects nature and culture, but it is not very encouraged.
Thus, the theme of the report is environmental public policies, whose delimitation is
the creation of a standard in Florianópolis for the application of public policies for agroecology.
The objectives are to understand agroecology and its socio-environmental impact; Analyze
the construction of agricultural public policy in Florianópolis; Based on the experiences, to
investigate how public policies can be implemented to strengthen local agroecology. The result
indicates that agroecology produces environmental services since it protects nature as a
productive activity. The conclusion shows that public policies have the potential to innovate and
encourage agroecology, since both aim at the sustainable management of nature. The methodology
follows the method of inductive approach and of the monographic procedure.
