Abstract

The objective of this work was to characterize plant species, correlating with their importance to the community, and to emphasize agroecological knowledge practiced in the community. Field work occurred on 10/08/2018 in the community of Santa Rosa, Capanema/PA. Semi-structured questionnaires were used, with questions about socioeconomic and environmental questions. The identification of the species present in the flora of the region were done by means of animal analysis (visual), analysis of photographic material and vernacular names. There were 38 plant species (35 genera and 29 families) totaling 90 individuals. Being the families that contributed most to the species richness, Arecaceae, Rutaceae and Anacardiaceae. The families Arecaceae and Rutaceae presented greater sociological importance, making up 23.4% of the species. It was possible to make suggestions to be taken by residents of the community to reduce practices considered to have potential for environmental degradation.
