Abstract

Public policies to support the expansion of family agriculture have been strengthened over the decades, with emphasis on the formation of collective actions around cooperatives and associations. Given this context, the objective of this study was to investigate the production and distribution of foodstuffs in Mato Grosso do Sul linked to COPRAN to supply institutional markets. The methodology is supported by bibliographical and field research. The data collection took place through a structured interview with the president of the cooperative. The results pointed out that the challenges to be transposed by the enterprise are of great scope, but also potentialities were verified regarding the commercialization and supply to the institutional markets. It is concluded that the commercialization with such markets allows the generation of complementary income, which contributes to the expansion of local economies.
