Abstract

This article brings the results of a graduate research developed in the course of Undergraduate Education in the Field, at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), brazil, having as object of study the teaching of Mathematics in the context of a school in the Field, the Municipal School Ataíde Sampaio of the municipality of Bodoquena, taking as influences the perception of a Mathematics teacher. The research aimed to highlight, through a case study, the following question: what is the perception of a teacher of Mathematics involved in the context of an Education of the Field? The realization of this work showed that the Education in the Field comes with many challenges and difficulties, starting with the lack of support of public bodies, spaces and materials appropriate for working with students, not to speak of the great distances that some students need to go through to get to school and the difficulties faced with the means of transport used. And, yet, through a perception of the Math teacher, it was clear the ignorance about what is, for what and for whom the Education of the Field lens and consequently, without knowing the value of a teacher training specific to facing the Schools in the Field.
