Profile of traders and consumers of the free fair of Jatiúca – Maceió/AL

Abstract

The objective was to evaluate the profile of merchants and consumers of the free trade fair of Jatiúca, Maceió/AL, using a semi-structured questionnaire. Of the 18 marketers interviewed, 11 are women, aged between 21 and 50 years (72%), where the income obtained in the activity is sufficient to meet family demand (78%). Of the 35 consumers interviewed, 68.6% are female, with ages ranging from 21 to 70 years, in which 74.3% have complete superior level, reflecting an income higher than R$ 4,000/month. The weekly shopping frequency is due to the need for fresh, quality products. Despite this, problems in the physical structure and hygiene are indicated as the main among the consumers interviewed (94.1%).
