The Brazil occupies the second position in the world production of cassava, being in the Northeast planted primarily in Semi-arid Region. In the North Central region of Piauí in the Northeast region of the production of this crop is limited by several factors, including growing in soils of low natural fertility. Despite the difficulties, this soil is definitely built into the production process, and is of great importance in this ecosystem sustainability. The green manure can help in this process. The objective of this work was to evaluate the development and production of culture of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) under different cultivation of green manures in Yellow Latosol in the coastal region. Completely randomized design was used, with four repetitions, being the treatments T1-spontaneous vegetation mowing and incorporated, T2-spontaneous vegetation mowing, T3-Sunn hemp juncea mowing and incorporated, T4-Sunn hemp juncea mowing, T5- Pork beans brushed and incorporated, and T6-pig bean brushed. Commercial productivity were evaluated (PC), number of roots per plant (NRP), average mass of root (MMR), average diameter of root (DMR), average length of root (CMR), green mass of roots (MVR), green mass of aerial part (MVPA), total mass (MVR + MVPA), harvest index (CI), and plant biomass of green manures (BVAV). Biometric variables evaluated of cassava were not influenced by the amount of vegetable biomass of green manures in pré-plantio. C. juncea (Crotalaria juncea) presented the highest average to BVAV, however, there was no influence of this average indices evaluated for the culture studied.
